Opposing Luxury Apartments in Southeast Orlando
Four primary issues were addressed in Bill Moore’s letter to Orlando City Commissioner Jim Gray opposing the development of luxury apartments in southeast Orlando; overcrowding concerns at area schools being near or over capacity, the environmental impact of additional stormwater runoff, increased traffic congestion, and protecting a Bald Eagle’s nest.
Voices Heard
The community’s voices have been heard. The Hoffner Avenue luxury apartment complex was pulled from the consent agenda for the upcoming Orlando City Council Meeting for this coming Monday, December 9th, 2019. There are plans to have another town hall meeting sometime January 2020. The apartment complex, however, is on the City Council Agenda for January 13, 2020 at the present time.
Environmental Concerns Expressed
Bill Moore provided an on-camera interview about the environmental and infrastructure impacts surrounding a proposed development in a Conway neighborhood.
